Dog walking in East Passyunk & Passyunk Square

This is where Pups On Passyunk started in 2018, and the Avenue gave us our name. We walk one-on-one on weekdays around the Avenue, Columbus Square, and the surrounding rowhouse blocks, with a primary walker who gets to know your dog and your routine.

  • Employee walkers, not contractors
  • Free meet & greet at your home
  • Photos and the GPS route after every walk

Where we started

Pups On Passyunk began in 2018, after a long walk through South Philly with Pepper, the pup who inspired the business. The name came from the Avenue at the center of this neighborhood.

We’ve grown into Center City since then, but South Philly is still home.

More about us

Our usual walks

We plan each walk around your dog, and the GPS map in your visit report shows the route. These are the ones we use most here.

East Passyunk Avenue

The Avenue

The Avenue gets crowded at lunch and around the outdoor tables, so dogs stay close on a short leash, or we take a quieter street. The Singing Fountain makes a good stopping point if we have a few minutes.

Good for: Dogs who are comfortable around people

12th to 13th, Reed to Wharton

Columbus Square

Most of our time here is the loop around the outside. We stay off the playground and fields and don’t take dogs into the dog park areas.

Good for: A steady loop with plenty of room to sniff

Passyunk Square & East Passyunk Crossing

The side streets

The side streets are quieter, which suits puppies, older dogs, and dogs who’d rather avoid a crowd. On trash day, walkers keep dogs away from the bags and bins.

Good for: Puppies, seniors, and nervous dogs

Rowhouses and apartments

Whether you’re in a rowhouse or an apartment building, we’ll set up access the way your home works.

Rowhouses

Most of our clients use a smart lock or a lockbox. If we hold a key, it’s kept safe and never stored with anything that identifies your home.

Tell us about the vestibule door, the gate to the yard, or where the leash hangs. Those details go in your dog’s care notes, so any walker who comes has them.

Apartment buildings

If your building has a front desk, we can pick up and return your keys there. We follow the building’s rules for signing in and using the elevator, though a wait at the desk can take a few minutes out of the walk.

We don’t take dogs into public dog parks. If your building has its own dog area, we can use it with your OK.

A primary walker, with backup close by

When your weekly schedule is set, we pair your dog with a primary walker. They do most of your walks and get to know your dog’s habits and routine.

If your walker is off, out sick, or unavailable, our scheduling team assigns another trained walker. Whoever covers has your dog’s care notes and access details, and you still get the report, notes, and photos afterward. If your walker leaves us, we’ll match you with a new primary walker.

A regular schedule gets you the most consistency. Every walker is our own employee: background-checked, trained by us, and insured.

Will my pup have the same walker each day?
